We’re getting married at Welkinweir Estate, a beautiful historic estate tucked away in the hills of Chester County, just outside of Pottstown, PA.

Welkinweir means “where sky meets water,” which feels pretty fitting once you see it. The estate sits on more than 200 acres of preserved land surrounded by gardens, forests, ponds, winding paths, old stone walls, and the ruins of a 200-year-old barn. It feels completely tucked away from everything, like its own little world for the day.

One of the things we loved most about Welkinweir is that it doesn’t feel like a traditional wedding venue. It has so much history and character on its own. A little old and romantic, a little wild, and perfectly imperfect. We wanted somewhere that felt beautiful and special without feeling overly fancy or stuffy, and we knew pretty quickly that we had found it here.

We’ll be spending the day all over the property, from the estate and gardens to the old stone ruins, before ending the night with all of our favorite people under one roof.
